We are seeking an Architectural Job Captain to join a growing architectural team in Pasadena, CA. About the Role

As an Architectural Job Captain, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of healthcare projects, including hospitals, medical office buildings, clinics, surgical centers, and other highly regulated facilities. You'll be responsible for producing and coordinating construction documents, collaborating with consultants, and ensuring projects meet California healthcare and building code requirements.

This position offers the opportunity to be involved in all phases of a project, from schematic design through construction administration and project closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead construction document production for healthcare and other complex architectural projects.
  • Coordinate drawings and technical documentation with structural, MEP, and specialty consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with California building codes, Title 24, and HCAI/OSHPD requirements.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews to maintain documentation accuracy.
  • Support project teams through permitting, plan check, and regulatory review processes.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field coordination during construction.
  • Assist project managers with scheduling, coordination, and project execution.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.

Qualifications

  • 3-8+ years of architectural experience.
  • Experience working on healthcare, institutional, or other highly regulated project types preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and construction document production.
  • Thorough understanding of California Building Code (CBC), Title 24, and HCAI/OSHPD requirements.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary consultants and resolve technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated professional with strong attention to detail.
  • Architectural licensure or active pursuit of licensure is highly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience
